Dissonance
SFORA runs a two-month artist residency in Rajgród under the curatorial theme “Dissonance” — understood not as conflict, but as the creative collision of unexpected combinations.
Dissonance reveals the mechanisms through which imposed categories function like unwanted sounds — instinctively eliminated before they are even heard. SFORA proposes a practice of retuning the ear: opening oneself to what escapes comfort and recognising that meaningful encounters are often born through friction.

Programme
Over eight weeks, participants are provided with: a curatorial introduction, reading materials, 1-to-1 meetings, movement workshops, group discussions, feedback sessions, and individual research time.
Participants begin with a period of contextual exploration and independent research, letting their practices deepen before moving into collaborative creation. The programme is guided by mentors from the festival’s core team, combining curatorial, performance and production expertise.
The site
The residency uses two centres on Lake Rajgrodzkie — Knieja and Energetyk. Accommodation, shared living areas and a fully equipped kitchen sit in the same premises as the rehearsal and workshop spaces. Beaches, clearings and green areas are used for site-responsive work. AV technical support is available. Spaces are accessible to people with physical disabilities, and Polish Sign Language (PJM/SJM) interpretation is provided on request.
Funding
The residency is funded by Culture Moves Europe — the European Union’s Creative Europe programme, implemented by the Goethe-Institut.
